At our Christmas meeting late last November, Sister Dalton gave us two assignments. The first was to look at how the Lord teaches a young boy in 1 Nephi 11-14, and to send her a paragraph of our observations. The second was to write a paragraph about what we would like our daughters and/or granddaughters to know when they finished the Young Women program. Here's my answer to that question. I know it's not exactly a paragraph. . . .
I have just adored learning from Sister Dalton over the last most of a decade in the Young Women program. She is a pure and beautiful spirit, inspired and inspiring.

When my daughters have completed the Young Women Program, I would like them to know that:
· They are deeply loved by their Heavenly Father, who knows them intimately. They can trust Him always.
· As covenant members of the Church, their lives have a holy purpose, including specific responsibilities and opportunities. They are and should be different from the world.
· The gift of the Holy Ghost is an infallible guide through the challenge of mortality. Experience with the Holy Ghost is based on worthiness, desire and practice.
· As members of the Church, they serve the Lord Jesus Christ and bear witness of Him word and deed everywhere and always.
· Special (priesthood) powers and gifts have been restored to the earth and are available to them (through the temple, etc.).
· Faithfulness in small steps like prayer, scripture study and service brings big results.
· Repentance and forgiveness are daily opportunities provided by the atonement.
· Life is a great blessing. Living the gospel is the sure path to joy in body, mind and spirit now and in eternity.
